Almost time for a road trip

Hey team. I finished up student teaching at Sanford Middle School last week and it was very bittersweet. More bitter for sure. Yes, I get to sleep in now and not turn in millions of pages of lesson plans, however I miss the shit out of the kids AND my cooperating teacher. I really had an amazing experience, and I can not WAIT to be back in the classroom. I really hope I will find a job in a middle school next year....
This is actually on the first day of grad school. Don't I look for fresh and excited?

Anyhow, now that it is the Friday before Thanksgiving break, I am trying to get a bunch of school work done. I only have class on Monday next week, so I am skipping out of town early to head to Milwaukee. A is going back to Detroit to visit family, and I have my 10 year class reunion next Friday, so we are splitting up for the holiday (we have never had a Thanksgiving apart :(  )  for the week/end. I want my trip to MKE to be somewhat relaxing, so I am doing lots of work now.
And when I do homework, I need music. So...here are some tunes I am enjoying as I write papers and reflect on teaching and whatnot. Enjoy!

I know, kinda random. just songs that I have played this morning that have made me feel good. Happy Friday! (that was Lykke Li, Daft Punk doing a Pretty Lights remix, Peggy Lee, and Jethro Tull)

Zing! Went the Strings....

of my heart!!! Last FridayI had the pleasure of seeing the show "Beyond the Rainbow: Garland at Carnegie Hall." So for my birthday, A got me tickets to this show (I'm a big fat Judy Garland lover, so this was a big deal) and let me tell you, The show was AWESOME! A, our friend Liz and myself all headed down to St Paul and saw this amazing show. The older Judy looked and sounded just like Judy. The young Judy looked and sounded just like Judy. And it was historically accurate, and amazing. I had such a great time. And as ridiculous as it is, I have no problem saying that I love me some Judy Anyhow, here are some pick.

And because I love you so much, here is a clip from A star is Born of my all time favorite Judy Song. Enjoy

Happy Sunday.

Long Overdue!

Hey hey...I've been meaning to put these up for a while now. A few weeks ago, when the Packers came to town, a friend of mine offered me a ticket with a group of 5 of our friends. I declined, because I'm in grad school and didnt think I should spend my money on a football game. But then a lot of people twisted my arm by telling me that I really needed to see the Pack live. So when I called my buddy back, the ticket was gone. I was very sad. So after about 20 minutes of kicking myself, I decided I was going to find someone to go with, and find my own tickets. So I called up APVDH, and he, too, said no at first. But then he called back and said yes. So I hit up craigslist, and found 2 tickets for a reasonable price. Al and I went to our buddy Jon Z's, to "tailgate" with our other friends going. Bloody's, breakfast, Chuck....we had it all. So below are some photos from the day. Enjoy!

I had such a good time at the game. I can't wait to go to Lambeau some day.
