MIGHTY SWELL!!!! vintage pop-up shop!

Quick post here! This weekend is going to be amazing....don't you think? So many fun things to do! there are some good shows in town, a queer bike race, but MOST IMPORTANTLY, this weekend is the Mighty Swell Vintage Pop-up Shop!!!

What is this, you wonder? WELL, let me take a minute to tell you about it.

Over the summer, A got real into thrifting (well, who are we kidding, she has ALWAYS had this passion) but over the summer, she met an old roommate of mine. This old roommate (Meghan) writes a blog and does cool stuff in this city. making a small world smaller, A had been reading Meghan's blog (not knowing that I know Meghan)and let me know it was her favorite. Well, once Amanda met Meghan and all the pieces came together that she was the writer of the blog, and they had so much in common, this idea came up.

Meghan had been working on this for a bit with a few other vintage lovers/etsy users. She came by, saw what A had been buying and asked her to get involved.

So this shop is a one weekend (perhaps a few weekends) a year. It is taking place at Umber Studio (3109 East 42nd Street, MPLS) The sale is Saturday from 10-7 and Sunday from 12-5. And the real cool part is that the prices will be pretty reasonable. A and I had been to shops where dresses are $70! that is crazy. These gals are taking a different approach to that. Real reasonable! There are 6 vendors (i believe) meaning 6 different people picking out stuff-so different tastes will come into play. Some of these ladies focused more on vintage clothing, but today I'm talking mainly about A and her side of things.

Amanda decided to go the home goods (mainly) route. Anything from tables to pitchers to dishware to jewelry and more. Below are a handful of pictures (none of which are actually pictures of A's things...just pics I could find on the web) of things you may find at the sale.

Amanda's shop, or what her stuff is going under is Salvaged Strawberry! It is so damn cute! AND, we (mainly she) made all of our own tags and tagged all 250 of her products. So as you are buying stuff, remember that A LOT of love was put into this. And if you need a friend to go with, CALL ME UP!!!
